Nominees Sought for AAM's 2008 Board of Directors
The AAM Nominating Committee is seeking nominations for six members at-large for the 2008–2011 class of the AAM Board of Directors, as well as a suggested nominee for board chair for 2008–2010 and vice chair for 2008–2009. Ideal candidates have senior experience in and knowledge about museum management, governance and ethics and demonstrated experience as a board member for associations or other nonprofit organizations. All nominees must be individual AAM members in good standing in any member category except Independent Professionals or Press/Public and willing to assume all expenses of attending board meetings.

The AAM board has confirmed the following as the nominating committee for the 2008–2011 slate of candidates through the November 2007 board meeting:

- Spencer Crew: AAM board member; president, National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, Cincinnati
- Bill Eiland: AAM board member; director, Georgia Museum of Art, Athens
- Dee Harris: Council of Regional Associations, president, MPMA; director, Mid-America Arts Alliance, Kansas City, Mo.
- Phyllis Rabineau: Council of SPCs, chair, National Association for Museum Exhibition (NAME); vice president for interpretation and education, Chicago History Museums
- Jeff Rudolph: AAM board immediate past chair and president; CEO, the California Science Center, Los Angeles
- Cristian Samper: AAM board member; director, Smithsonian Institution, National Museum of Natural History, Washington, D.C.
