The Alliance offices to relocate in fall of 2015 in order to increase resources

WASHINGTON, DC – The American Alliance of Museums plans to relocate its headquarters to a new Arlington, Virginia, office space in the fall of 2015, saving the group millions of dollars in rent and related expenses.

The Alliance will occupy a 15,300 square-foot office space at 2451 Crystal Drive, which is about four miles from its current Washington, D.C. location. The Alliance estimates about $1.5 million in rent and related cost savings through 2020 on account of the move. The funds saved will be directly invested into the Alliance’s member services and mission-related programs.

The Alliance joins a number of nonprofits and associations who have recently moved to the Crystal City neighborhood, in order to conserve resources and provide increased convenience for visiting members. The new office is easily accessible by public transportation and less than one mile from Reagan Washington National Airport.

The new office space is LEED-certified, allowing the Alliance to operate as a greener organization. The move will also provide an opportunity for the Alliance to redesign its workspace to encourage collaboration and support the future of the organization.
