DESCRIPTION
If you joined us (or missed it) in 2009 in Monterey, you don't want to miss Creativity and Collaboration 2011 in Chautauqua! Come discover new ways to foster creativity and collaboration with your museum colleagues in a retreat environment at the historic Athenaeum Hotel on Lake Chautauqua.
For two-plus days, we’ll experiment, discuss and work together with instigators and thought leaders from diverse creative industries (TBA) throughout the program featuring:
• Interactive experiences with creative professionals and provocateurs from outside and inside the museum field
• Opportunities to foster strong interpersonal connections among participants
• Large and small-group discussions
• In-depth, hands-on workshops
• Participatory social events
• Opportunities to recharge and rejuvenate
Note: This retreat will focus on fostering the creative process rather than a “nuts and bolts” of exhibition planning and design.
How Will I Benefit?
After participating in this thought-provoking, inspiring and recharging retreat, you'll be better able to:
• Explore the many ways you might approach creativity (the generation of great ideas) and innovation (the implementation of those great ideas) in planning for meaningful visitor experiences
• Build expertise in fostering creative exhibition teams and collaboration across divisions and generations in the museum
• Experience new collaboration paradigms that you can apply in your day-to-day work
Who Should Attend?
Creative, curious museum professionals (especially exhibition and visitor experience leaders) are invited to join us for this amazing experience. This retreat is ideal for institutional teams to discuss issues and creative solutions for ongoing or upcoming projects.

INSTIGATORS
Our planning team is working hard to get the right folks to join us for this program. Please note: sessions/activities are designed as highly interactive experiences, NOT presentations. Current instigators include (all subject to change):

Ramon Sangüesa, co-founder of Citilab, a community innovation center in Barcelona, Spain, that connects citizens with research, innovation, and communication
Irene LaPuente Aguilar, who runs her own science and tech communication company, la Mandarina de Newton, which includes work on a weekly science section of a TV program and developing and implementing many children's workshops and workshops for cultural managing professionals
