DESCRIPTIONS
Webinar 1: Project Management Basics
Learn the basics of project management in this lively and practical workshop. Participants will learn about what changes when you go from “doing” the work to “managing” the project. We will discuss project management tools; how to plan the work of all those involved, including employees and contractors; how to create budgets and timelines; and how to negotiate on behalf of the project. We will also explore different project management styles, giving you insights on how to build on your strengths to create effective project teams – that colleagues want to work with (the true test of how effectively you will get the project completed!).
Webinar 2: Creating a Scope of Work
Getting off to the right start in project management makes all the difference. In this webinar we will explore the many considerations in developing a project scope of work, including goals and objectives, measures of success, schedule, milestones, budget, assumptions and constraints, action steps and deliverables, and roles and responsibilities. We will also explore the use of feasibility studies, requests for proposals, and the importance of continuous planning as you reach milestones. While the webinar will not delve into the many project management software programs, we will cover some of the vocabulary and task breakdown critical to planning and typically found in software programs.
Webinar 3: Getting the Project Work Done
The plan was great but... aaargh... real life is different! In this webinar, Myriam Springuel will review the project planning process and how to use those plans to keep the project on track. We will focus on the reality of implementing the project, exploring what goes wrong and why; and what you can do to stay on track, on budget, and on time.
Webinar 4: Closing and Evaluating the Project
In this webinar, we will quickly review the process of planning and implementing a project as the basis for evaluating if the project was delivered on time, on budget, and to specifications. Myriam Springuel will provide the overview with project managers describing lessons learned on projects of different sizes and types. The program will outline tools for assessing your experience on one project and turning it into a learning experience for the next. In addition, we will review a handful of popular project management software and outline criteria to consider as you select your best tool.
HOW WILL I BENEFIT?
After participating in this recorded webinar series, attendees will be better able to plan for, implement, close and evaluate projects, understand how to analyze a project process, manage project team members and employ tools and skills for successful project implementation.
