Apply to Be a MAP or Accreditation Peer Reviewer

You can apply to be a peer reviewer for either MAP (called Surveyors) or Accreditation (called Visiting Committee Members), or both—you only need to submit one application. Applications are reviewed throughout the year.

Here’s how to apply:

1. Check your eligibility: read the Qualifications for Service

2. Find the right fit
Ensure peer review is right for you and determine which program you are best suited for.

3. Complete an Application Form
Get a copy of the application form, fill it out, and mail it to the address on the Peer Review Contact Us page

4. Next Steps
You will get confirmation from us once we receive your application. MAP Surveyor applications are reviewed by AAM staff. Accreditation Visiting Committee applications are reviewed by AAM staff and approved by the Accreditation Commission.

Once accepted, you will be notified and receive an orientation packet that includes the Peer Review Manual, back issues of NEWStandard (the newsletter for peer reviewers), and other information that will help you get started. The Profile asks about various areas and levels of expertise and is used to match you with the appropriate site visit.
