AAM/ICOM
International Service Citation
|
Through the AAM/ICOM International Service Citation, AAM/ICOM strives
to honor those who have made a long-term commitment to advance the cause
of museum-based international relations. Individual professionals, museums,
and other organizations all play an important role in the collaboration
between U.S. museums and those abroad. These partnerships serve both
the international museum profession and the communities in which these
professionals
or organizations work by fostering international understanding.
The AAM/ICOM Citation will be presented in those years when a person,
museum, or other organization is nominated whose work has promoted international
relations and has had significant impact within the context of the field.
The nominee's contribution will be judged on vision, cooperation, mutual
assistance, and level of information exchange. Additional selection
factors
may include a nominee's record of philanthropy, sponsorship or participation
in international exhibitions, museological or field research, publishing,
programming, conferences, staff development, and other projects that
incorporate
global perspectives.
To nominate an individual or institution, please complete the AAM/ICOM
International Service Citation Nomination Form. Nominators
should have working knowledge of the contributions of the nominee. Self-nominations
will not be accepted for review. All materials must be postmarked by
January
14, 2005 to be eligible. Award presentation takes place during the AAM
Annual Meeting.
