How AAM Highlights Your Museum’s Achievement

In addition to the things you are doing, AAM will help promote your museum’s award and accredited status.

• We will send a press release to various museum associations announcing all recent accreditation awards. You will receive a copy in several weeks.
• Your institution’s award will be announced in an upcoming issue of AAM’s monthly newsletter Aviso and highlighted on our website.
• We will send letters to your governor and congressional representatives letting them know about your museum’s achievement. We will send you copies in a few weeks.
• Your museum is included on the list of AAM Accredited Museums on our website.
• And if it is an AAM member museum, we cite your accredited status in the online AAM member directory.
• Your museum will be specially marked as an accredited museum in the Official Museum Directory. (We provide the list once a year to the publisher, who is solely responsible for the placement and accuracy of the accreditation notation in the final publication.)
