We are committed to identifying and implementing the highest standards of ethical practice.
In 1991, the AAM Board of Directors adopted the Code of Ethics for Museums, our formal statement of the ethical principles museums and museum professionals are expected to observe. The Code of Ethics has been regularly amended, most recently in 2000.
The AAM Ethics Committee (a committee of the Board of Directors) has also developed additional ethical guidelines based on the principles in the Code of Ethics.
