 | ICOM-US International Service Citation Criteria and Nominations |
The ICOM-US Citation will be presented in those years when a person, museum, or other organization is identified whose work has promoted international relations and has had significant impact within the context of the field. Nominees may be suggested by their peers, or identified by the ICOM-US Board's International Service Citation Recognition Committee.
The Citation is conferred by majority vote of the ICOM-US Board. Nominees' contributions will be judged on vision, cooperation, mutual assistance, and level of information exchange. Additional selection factors may include a nominee's record of philanthropy, sponsorship or participation in international exhibitions, museological or field research, publishing, programming, conferences, staff development, and other projects that incorporate global perspectives. This citation honors exemplary international service in the museum field on the part of individuals or institutions from the US or abroad. Current members of the ICOM-US Board, including ex-officio members, are not eligible for nomination.
Nominations are now being accepted for the 2010 award and must be postmarked by September 7, 2009.
