Congratulations to the 106 museums participating in the Museum Assessment Program this year. MAP participants in 2009 include museums from 38 states and Puerto Rico, encompassing institutions of all sizes as well as all museum disciplines. The range of MAP participants reflects the broad scope of America’s museums. A process of extensive self-study, peer review and implementation, MAP empowers museums of all types and sizes to improve operations in a range of areas, thereby enabling them to better meet their commitment to serve the public.
The following new additions include: 28 Collections Management Assessments, 14 Governance Assessments, 48 Institutional Assessments, and 16 Public Dimension Assessments.
