Bookstore Cancellation and Shipping Policies
Currently, you are unable to backorder out-of-stock items through our web store. If there is an item you would like to order that is currently out of stock, you can contact the bookstore at our toll free number 877.226.2150 or firstname.lastname@example.org to place a backorder. Your credit card will be charged at the time that the order is placed and the item will be shipped to you when it becomes available.
If an item ordered online is placed on manual backorder due to inventory discrepancies, you will be contacted about the status of the item. You will have the option of leaving the order in our system to be shipped when available or receiving a refund for the item. Items on backorder that are declared out of print by their publishers will be refunded.
Shipping Methods, Costs and Approximate Delivery Times
UPS Ground and USPS Priority Mail
Cost: The cost for both of these services is 15% of your order total before tax (if applicable).
Shipping Time: UPS Ground shipping times depend on your location. If you would like to estimate the time UPS Ground deliver would take to your location, visit the UPS website and enter the zip code 20005 as the ship-from zip code. UPS Ground delivery is only available to customers in the continental United States. Customers in Hawaii and Alaska must use either 2nd Day delivery or USPS Priority Mail. A street address is required for this service. UPS Ground cannot deliver to PO Boxes, APO/FPO addresses or U.S. Protectorates (including Puerto Rico).
USPS Priority Mail delivery generally takes 2-3 business days. Delivery times may be extended during the Christmas holiday season. Priority Mail must be used by customers with PO Boxes, APO/FPO addresses or U.S. Protectorates (including Puerto Rico).
Both UPS Ground and USPS Priority Mail orders are sent out within one business day of placing your order. Orders placed before 11 a.m. (ET) during the business week are usually shipped the same day.
Domestic Order: Overnight Delivery via Federal Express
Cost: The cost for overnight delivery is determined by FedEx. It is based on weight and distance from our location in Washington, D.C. Visit the FedEx website to learn more about shipping rates. Unless otherwise specified, packages are shipped FedEx Standard Overnight.
Overnight delivery can be charged to either a FedEx account number or to a valid credit card. These orders cannot be placed through our website at this time. Please call the bookstore at our toll free number 877.226.3034 to place an overnight order.
Shipping Time: Orders placed before 4:30 p.m. (ET) will be delivered on the next business day after the date of the transaction. Orders placed after 4:30 p.m. (ET) will be shipped the next day.
International Orders: Airmail Cost:
The cost for this service is 30% of your order total.
International orders are shipped via Priority Mail® International. Delivery times average 6-10 business days. International orders are generally shipped within 1-2 business days of order placement.
Federal Express International Orders
Expedited international orders are shipped via FedEx International. The cost and delivery time is determined by FedEx based on the international service you chose, weight of the package and delivery location. Unless otherwise specified, packages are shipped FedEx International Priority. To learn more about FedEx shipping rates and times, please visit their website. International delivery can be charged to either a FedEx account number or to a valid credit card. These orders cannot be placed through our website at this time. All orders delivered within the District of Columbia or Ohio are subject to sales tax on books and shipping. Institutions exempt from District of Columbia sales tax or Ohio sales tax must provide a copy of their sales tax exemption the first time they order from the Alliance bookstore.
The bookstore allows the return of books within 10 business days following the receipt of the order. Returned books must be in the same condition in which they were received. Customers will receive a full refund for the cost of the book(s), minus the shipping charge. Credit will be applied to the applicable credit card.
Please allow 2 to 3 weeks for the credit to be processed and applied.

Books published by The AAM Press are offered at quantity discounts, subject to available stock. Some restrictions may apply.
Quantity 10 to 24 copies: 10% discount
Quantity 25 to 49 copies: 20% discount
Quantity 50 copies or greater: 30% discount
