Help Logging In to the AAM Website

Note: Your individual account contains your personal information. To protect your privacy, please do not share your username or password with others.

If you have forgotten your username or password:

  1. Click on Login (located in the blue bar near the top of any page).
  2. Click on Retrieve Username or Password.
  3. You may enter either your email or username.
  4. If your email address is not in the database or is not a unique email address, you must enter your username.
  5. Click the appropriate button (username or email).
  6. Select Retrieve Password.
  7. An email will be sent to you with your username and password, as well as a link to reset your password.
  8. If neither option works, contact AAM at membership@aam-us.org or 202/289-9132.

If you are logging in for the first time:

  1. If you haven't logged in before, simply enter your AAM membership number as your username and password.
  2. You have the ability to change your username and password to something you can remember more easily by going to Edit Account.
  3. Your member number can be found on your AAM membership card or by contacting membership@aam-us.org or calling 202/289-9132.

If your museum or nonprofit organization is an AAM member:

  1. The institutional login has been replaced by individual accounts for staff who work at member museums or nonprofit organizations. Once you create an individual account and are listed on your museum's or organization's roster, you can access the Information Center and other membership benefits.
  2. To set up your individual account, simply click Sign Up and complete the form. During the sign-up process, you must select Find My Organization and identify your museum or organization to receive the membership benefits.

If your library has a subscription

  1. Library subscriptions do not include access to the members-only sections of the AAM website.
  2. You may, however, access the variety of resources on the website that are publicly available.

If your company is an AAM member

  1. Each commercial membership includes 2 individual accounts.
  2. If you are one of the designated representatives for your company, you should have a login already defined. If you do not, contact membership@aam-us.org with your name and company information.
  3. If you are not one of the company representatives, you will not be able to access restricted materials. Your company can inquire about purchasing additional representative accounts by emailing membership@aam-us.org.
