The past two years have taught us that in the face of extreme adversity, our field can overcome the greatest challenges through unity. Together, by sharing your experiences and speaking with one collective voice, we shifted public perception of the permanency of museums without financial support, secured billions of dollars in federal funding that saved countless museums and museum jobs; funding that was far from a guarantee, and through your creativity, determination, and commitment to your communities demonstrated the power and impact of our field on society.
As we turn the calendar to a new year, it’s clear that 2022 will continue to challenge us—as individuals, as museums, and as a society. In the face of these challenges and constant change, know that you are never alone. We will continue to be with you every step from providing you with the resources to help you recover strong, resilient, and renewed, to celebrating your wins along the way.
In 2022, our museums, communities, and world will continue to need you even more. To support you in our collective future, our newly released 2022-2025 strategic framework provides a roadmap to support transformative, field-wide work in partnership with our members, partners, and allies. In the years ahead, we are prioritizing:
- Social & Community Impact
- DEAI & Anti-racism
- The Museum Community
- The Way We Work
Whether you are a member, financially supported our cause, spoke up for museums, volunteered your time, or attended our Annual Meeting in 2021, we thank you. There is no Alliance without you.
