Core Documents Verification is open to:

• Museums of any size and type
• American and international museums
• Non-profit and for-profit museums
• Museums that are independent/private, part of a museum system, or under a parent organization (e.g., university, city government, foundation, etc.)
• Collections-based institutions and non-collecting institutions

To participate, a museum must:

• Have signed the Pledge of Excellence
• Have an educational mission
• Be open to the public
• Use and interpret objects and/or a site for publicly accessible, regularly scheduled programs and exhibits
• Operate with policies and plans that already reflect professional practices of museums, as articulated in the Core Standards

Alliance membership is not required.
