2023 AAM Awards Update: To better highlight and celebrate the museum professional community in all its diversity, we are in the process of redesigning an awards program that aligns with AAM’s strategic framework and centers equity and inclusion. As part of this process, this award program is temporarily on hold while we pilot a few updates to three other awards programs in 2023.

Please review the following guidelines before submitting an application. Significant changes have been made to award categories and other program policy and evaluation criteria:

MUSE awards recognize outstanding achievement in Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museums (GLAM) media. The Media & Technology Professional Network’s annual awards are presented to institutions that enhance the GLAM experience and engage audiences with useful and innovative digital programs and services. The MUSE awards celebrate scholarship, community, innovation, creativity, education, accessibility, and inclusiveness.

Winning projects for each category are chosen by an international group of GLAM technology professionals. The awards are presented at the Annual Meeting & MuseumExpo. Projects must be produced by or for a GLAM, and may include but are not limited to websites, podcasts, social media campaigns, multimedia installations, games, interactive kiosks, audio tours, and mobile apps. All Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners receive a beautiful award plaque. Honorable Mention winners receive a certificate. All winners are listed in perpetuity on the Awards list of past winners.

Applications for the 2021 MUSE Awards were due April 16.
