Donor-Advised Fund (DAF)

AAM welcomes DAF contributions. Request a grant distribution through your DAF sponsor. Be sure to reference your name and indicate whether your gift is unrestricted or designated to a specific fund. To direct your gift, please use the mail or wire transfer options above. If additional information is required, please contact the development department. We encourage you to speak with your tax advisor regarding any questions.

Gifts of Marketable Securities

You may make gifts using publicly traded securities which have appreciated in value. You will be able to claim a charitable deduction for the full market value of the securities on the date the gift is made. It is important that you or your broker notify the development department of your gift and that your broker reference your name in the DTC transfer instructions.

Electronic stock transfer via DTC

Account Name: American Association of Museums

DTC#: 8862
Please contact the Kaufman & Kast brokerage team at Merrill Lynch (202-434-4706) and provide them with the donor’s name, address, name of security, number of shares, and gift purpose*.

*Note: These instructions are only for transferring shares of stock held by a broker. To transfer mutual funds or any other security, please contact the Kaufman & Kast brokerage team at Merrill Lynch (202-434-4706).

Pledges

Please contact the development department if you wish to make a pledge. To count towards the current fiscal year, all pledges must be paid by December 31.

Matching Gifts

Matching gift benefits can double, sometimes triple, the impact of your gift. Ask your employer if they offer matching gifts, then request fulfillment instructions from your company’s human resources department. Be sure to notify the development department as well, forward any confirmation receipts you receive, and we’ll keep an eye out for it.

Planned Gifts

AAM willingly accepts gifts made through various gift instruments, including charitable remainder trusts, gift annuities, charitable lead trusts, and bequests. For more information, please call Jennifer Calvert Hall at 202-289-9120.
